We’ll assume that you’ve already installed WordPress. If you haven’t already installed WordPress on your site, this article will tell you how.

How to Manage Your WordPress Website Security

To check the security of an existing WordPress install using WordPress Toolkit, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to cPanel.

Please see this article if you do not know how to log in to your cPanel account.

  2. In the Domains section of the cPanel’s home screen, click WordPress Toolkit:
  3. Next, the WordPress Toolkit page will appear, and you’ll see the list of the existing WordPress installs.

If you do not see any installations listed, you must import them into WordPress Toolkit. Please follow the instructions in this guide.

  4. Under Status, click Security:

  5. Select the WordPress install, then click Check security. WordPress Toolkit begins scanning your site.
  6. Select the check box next to the issue to resolve an issue immediately, and then click Secure.

This feature is only available on WordPress Toolkit Pro.

  7. You can also check the integrity of WordPress application files. To do this, click Check WordPress integrity and then click Verify Checksums. WordPress Toolkit checks the files on your account against the reference checksums at wordpress.org to ensure that no files have been tampered with.

That’s a wrap! You now know how to manage your WordPress website security using WordPress Toolkit in cPanel.
