Samsung has included it’s Email app with it’s phones for a long time and over the years, they’ve really engineered an excellent Email app for Android.<\/p>\n

By the end of this knowledge base article, you will know how to add your very first Email Account in Samsung Email as well as an additional Email Account.<\/p>\n

Adding your first account to Samsung Email<\/h2>\n

Step 1:<\/strong> If you haven’t downloaded and installed Samsung Email, you can click here<\/a> to open the Play Store to do so. The very first time you open Samsung Email, you’ll see a screen like the one below:<\/p>\n

To proceed in adding a new IMAP account, tap Other<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Step 2:<\/strong> Enter the email address and password for the account you’re adding, then tap Manual setup<\/strong> at the bottom.<\/p>\n

Step 3:<\/strong> From the pop-up menu that appears, select IMAP account.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Step 4:<\/strong> There’s a lot of information on the next screen, so let’s look at it in sections.<\/p>\n

Under Account:<\/p>\n

Enter your email address and password<\/strong> for the account you’re adding.<\/p>\n

Under Incoming server:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Enter the IMAP<\/strong> server is mail.yourdomain.tld<\/strong>
\nSelect SSL<\/strong> as the Security type<\/strong>
\nEnter 993<\/strong> for Port<\/strong><\/p>\n

Under Outgoing server:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Enter the SMTP<\/strong> server as mail.yourdomain.tld<\/strong>
\nSelect SSL<\/strong> as the Security<\/strong> type<\/strong>
\nEnter 465<\/strong> for Port<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ensure Require authentication to send mails is toggled to on (it will be orange, if so)<\/p>\n

And lastly, enter the username and password<\/strong> for the mail account you’re adding in the last 2 fields.<\/p>\n

Your screen should look similar to the one below:<\/p>\n

Step 5:\u00a0<\/strong>On this screen you have the option to select the time period of email you want to sync to your device as well as when you want Samsung Email to check for new email on the server.<\/p>\n

Keep in mind, the greater the period of time you’ve chosen to sync, the more space the email will occupy on your device.<\/p>\n

Choose your desired settings then tap Done<\/strong> to proceed.<\/p>\n

Step 6:<\/strong> On this screen you’re given two options.<\/p>\n

The first of which is the name you wish to give this account in Samsung Email. If you have multiple email accounts in the app, giving each a unique name ensure you don’t send mail from the wrong account by mistake.<\/p>\n

The second option is the name you wish others to see when you send mail from your phone using the Samsung Email app.<\/p>\n

Enter your information, then tap Done<\/strong> to proceed.<\/p>\n

Samsung Email will check the account settings and server information you have entered. If it’s correct, you’ll be taken directly to your inbox.<\/p>\n

How to add additional IMAP Email Accounts to Samsung Mail on Android<\/h2>\n

Step 1:<\/strong> Open the Samsung Email app and tap the \u2261 icon<\/strong> (hamburger menu) in the top left corner, then tap the \u2699 cog to open Settings.<\/p>\n
