It\u2019s one of the most popular applications and MySQL administration tools, with a large community of users and contributors.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PhpMyAdmin<\/strong> allows you to perform a wide range of operations with MySQL. In this tutorial, we&#8217;ll\u00a0familiarize ourselves with databases and phpMyAdmin.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1)<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/chemicloud.com\/kb\/article\/login-cpanel-whm-account\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Log into cPanel<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>2)<\/strong> Look for the &#8220;<strong>DATABASES<\/strong>&#8221; section and click on\u00a0<strong>&#8220;phpMyAdmin<\/strong> <strong>&#8220;,<\/strong>\u00a0you&#8217;ll be redirected to the\u00a0phpMyAdmin interface.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3)<\/strong> From this new screen, we\u00a0have direct access to all the databases created under this cPanel account, they are all listed on the left side. In this example, we have the databases &#8220;<strong>chemiclo_demo<\/strong>&#8221; and &#8220;<strong>information_schema<\/strong>&#8220;. A database consists of one or more tables, the information is recorded in the tables.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4)<\/strong> You can also view all the databases created under this account if you click the &#8220;<strong>Databases<\/strong>&#8221; tab:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Let&#8217;s have look at the options available in the top menu from phpMyAdmin<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>From the <strong>SQL<\/strong> tab, we can open an SQL Query window, here we can enter an entire SQL query code and execute it by pressing &#8220;<strong>Go<\/strong>&#8220;.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>Status<\/strong> tab, we&#8217;ll find information regarding the MySQL server since the last restart, like the MySQL uptime, number of active connections and traffic volume.<\/li>\n<li>We can export databases to our local computer if we click on the <strong>Export<\/strong> tab and hit &#8220;<strong>Go&#8221;<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>We can import databases from our local computer if we click on the <strong>Import<\/strong> tab and hit &#8220;<strong>Go&#8221;<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>Variables<\/strong> tab, you&#8217;ll see\u00a0will see a list of the MySQL server system variables.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>Charsets<\/strong>\u00a0tab, you&#8217;ll find all the charsets and collations supported by the MySQL server.<\/li>\n<li>In the Charsets tab, you&#8217;ll see a list with all the engines supported by the MySQL server<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Let&#8217;s move back to the current databases installed on this cPanel account<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If we click on the\u00a0<strong>chemiclo_demo <\/strong>database all the tables created under this database will be listed. As we can see in this screen, this database has only 3 tables created.<\/p>\n<p>From here we can see more information about the tables contained in the database, as well as perform several actions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Browse<\/strong> a table to see the individual records.<\/li>\n<li>See the <strong>Structure<\/strong> of a table and perform certain actions.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Search<\/strong> through a table for specific keywords.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Insert<\/strong> new rows (or fields) into a table.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Empty<\/strong> or delete\u00a0the contents of a table.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Delete<\/strong> or drop an entire table altogether.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>phpMyAdmin is a popular and free open source application written in PHP for MySQL databases management.
