This tutorial will cover how to transfer a domain<\/a> from Google Domains to a different domain provider.<\/p>\n

Things to Consider Before Transferring Your Domain Away from Google Domains<\/h2>\n

  1. Before going further with the domain transfer, it is essential to know that when a domain name is transferred away, the name servers associated with your domain stay the same during the transfer from one registrar to the other. So for example, if your domain name is using the default name servers of Google Domains, those name servers will be preserved during the transfer and you won’t be able to change the name servers until the transfer is complete.
    \nThis means that if you switched to another web hosting provider, and your website was migrated already, before initiating a domain transfer make sure that your domain name is pointed to the name servers of the new provider. As we previously mentioned – you won’t be able to change the name servers until the transfer is complete.<\/li>\n
  2. Domain Name Registrations and Web Hosting are separate services. The domain name transfer process will not automatically migrate your website.   3. The transfer of your domain name will include the renewal of your domain with another year. So for instance, if your domain is due to expire on the 1st of January 2025, once the transfer is complete, the new expiration date will be the 1st of January 2026.<\/li>\n
  4. Ensure the domain has not been registered or transferred in the last 60 days.<\/li>\n
  5. Ensure that the domain is in the\u00a0 \u2018Active Period\u2019 and not in the \u2018Redemption Grace Period\u2019 or \u2018Pending Delete\u2019 period.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    How To Transfer A Domain From Google Domains<\/h2>\n

    Step 1:<\/strong> Click here<\/a> to open the Google Domains page. In the top right corner of the webpage, click the Sign In button.<\/p>\n

    You will be prompted to log in to your Google Account:<\/p>\n

    Step 2:<\/strong> After signing into your Google Account, your Google Domains page will load, and you will see a list of all domains registered in your Google Domains account.<\/p>\n

    Find the domain you wish to transfer and click the Manage button to the right of the domain.<\/p>\n

    Step 3:<\/strong> The Domain Management page will load. Look towards the left side of the page and click Registration Options.<\/p>\n

    Step 4:<\/strong> The Registration Settings page will load. Scroll to the bottom of the page and look for the “Domain is locked’ setting.<\/p>\n

    Toggle the switch to the off position. This will unlock the domain so it can be transferred.<\/p>\n

    Step 5:<\/strong> The Transfer Out option is at the bottom of the Registration Settings page.<\/p>\n

    Click the Get Auth Code button.<\/p>\n

    Your auth code will be displayed. You can use this code at the new registrar to transfer the domain away from Google Domains.<\/p>\n \t\t

    \r\n \t\t\t\t\tAuth\/EPP codes are required for all .com, .net, .org, .us, .biz, .info, .me, .co, .io, .ca, .tv, .in, .mobi, .cc, .pe, .com.pe, .net.pe, .org.pe, .tech, .top, .party, .loan, .faith and other new gTLD domains. If you cannot request an EPP code in account with your Registrar, contact them and ask to provide it to you. \t\t\t\t<\/p>\r\n \t\t\t \t\t\t\r\n \t\t<\/div>\r\n \t\t\n

    And that’s how you unlock your domain at Google Domains and request your EPP code to transfer the domain.<\/p>\n

    How to Request a Domain Transfer to ChemiCloud<\/h3>\n

    Once you have your EPP code and have confirmed the domain is unlocked, and privacy is disabled, follow the steps to initiate the domain transfer.<\/p>\n

    We\u2019ll assume that you have already unlocked the domain at its current registrar and that you also have the authorization code (sometimes called an EPP key) from Hostinger.<\/p>\n

    1)<\/strong> Head over to our Domain Transfer<\/a>\u00a0page and enter the domain name you wish to transfer to ChemiCloud and the domain Transfer Code (EPP<\/strong>) in the appropriate text field (your current domain registrar should provide this code).<\/p>\n

    2)<\/strong>\u00a0Click the\u00a0\u201cOrder Now\u201c<\/strong>\u00a0button.<\/p>\n

    3)<\/strong>\u00a0You will be asked if you require hosting as well. Click the\u00a0\u201cContinue\u201c<\/strong> button to finalize only the domain transfer without hosting.<\/p>\n

    Click the \u2018Checkout<\/strong>\u2018 button to send your domain transfer request.<\/p>\n

    A domain name transfer can take up to six (6) days. Once the domain name transfer is complete, you will receive a confirmation by email.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
