How to Edit Contact Information and Preferences in cPanel

This article will review how to edit contact information and preferences in cPanel.

We advise you to regard this section with special attention since the information you provide will be crucial for recovering lost credentials.

How to Edit Contact Information and Preferences in cPanel

1. The first step is to log in to your cPanel account.

2. Next, scroll down the page to the Preferences section and click Contact Information

After selecting Contact Information, take some time to review all of the information and options on this panel.

In the first two fields, enter a primary and secondary Email address. These are used to recover passwords or send notifications about your cPanel account.

To ensure you or your account owners can receive these notifications, it is advised not to use an e-mail addressed to the same domain as the cPanel account is assigned.

The third field is optional, and it requires an access token for Pushbullet. This digital validation code allows Pushbullet to connect your website with a smartphone or smart device and send you “push” notifications. It is very similar to a messaging application and uses a combination of API features and 2 Factor Authentication, which you might find helpful. You can leave this field blank if you’re not ready to implement this right now.

The next section of the contact information and preferences page details the types of Email notifications you can receive. They are straightforward to understand. Most of them are useful and we recommend you additionally check the SSL Certificate expiry. This is a very important part of your domain which you should monitor closely.

After you’ve filled out all the information and decided on the notifications, click Save, lay back and rest easy knowing that your cPanel account is safe and sound.
