How to Import or Export Contacts in Webmail

This article will help you import and export contacts in Webmail using Horde or RoundCube.

How to Import Contacts In Webmail

How to Import Contacts In Horde

Please remember that in cPanel version 108, Horde no longer exists. So if you’re using one of the latest cPanel versions, you should scroll down and see the tutorial for Roundcube.

The process top import in Horde is a bit more involved than Roundcube, considering Horde is primarily used as groupware software for businesses and organizations to collaborate and it has some advanced features.

Important:

This portion of the KB Article presumes you already have a contacts.csv file exported from a different webmail product or mail app.

Step 1: Log in to your Webmail. There’s a lot of ways to do this but usually, the easiest is to visit https://www.yourdomain.com/webmail

Step 2: Once Horde is open, click the Address Book tab at the top. When the Address Book page opens, click Import/Export from the menu on the left.

Step 3: Next, the Import Address Book screen will open.

Ensure the format of the source file is set to a comma-separated value, in step 1.
Then choose the file from your computer.
Finally, click next.

Step 4: The next screen is the Import Step 2 process. This screen asks you to validate some information regarding the CSV file you are using to import the contacts. Typically the default settings are fine and you can continue by clicking Next.

Step 5: Part three of the import process in Horde will prompt you for some customizations which you can do, however, most of the time these aren’t necessary unless you want to customize them.

You can proceed by clicking Next. This will complete the import.

Step 6: You should see a green text box appear in the bottom right corner saying the CSV file successfully imported.

To test if your contacts are there, click Browse in the top left corner.

As you can see, the one contact I imported from my CSV file imported successfully!
