Ad Channels are a simple and powerful way to control your traffic. Simply put, you can create a new channel for every link and banner placement you want, then track which ones are doing best and adapt your strategies around that.

This article will show you how to create an ad channel, use it in your affiliate link, and how to delete an ad channel.

How to use Ad Channels in the Affiliate Platform

How to Create an Ad Channel

Step 1: Login to the Affiliate Platform by clicking here to open the login page.

Step 2: Once you’ve logged in, click Promotion from the menu of options on the left side of the Affiliate Dashboard, then click Ad Channels.

Step 3: Click the green + Add Channel button on the Ad Channels page to create a new channel.

After creating a new channel, the Ad Channels page will look like this:

Step 4: To edit the name of the channel you created, you need to click the little pencil icon that’s just to the left of the name. That will make the name field editable. See below:

You also need to edit the Code that goes with the Ad Channel name.

The Code is the portion of the Channel that is used in the referral link. I.e. https://chemicloud.com/#your_affiliate_link&chan=your_channel_name

To edit the Code, click the little pencil icon next to the code and give it a name you can identify, but do not use any spaces. It’s best to use simple words here, like twitter, or facebook, or youtube, instagram, etc…

Step 5: Finally, you need to save your changes. To do this, click the red Save modified rows button.

This will save your changes.

Now your new channel has been created and is ready for use! Congrats!

How to use an Add Channel in your Affiliate Link

You can use your Ad Channel in your Affiliate link by inserting it as a parameter in the URL. For example, if your affiliate link is as follows:

You can append the & symbol followed by the channel code. Your link would look like this:

You can also generate code for banners and links with the channel name already in the code by going to the Banners and Links section of the Affiliate Dashboard and choosing a Channel. See below:

Step 1: From the Affiliates Dashboard, click Promotion then Banners & Links:

Step 2: On the Banners & Links page, look for the Additional Data section which is highlighted in blue color, and choose the channel you want to use for the banner & link code from the Channels dropdown menu. See below:

Step 3: Click the green Apply button to save the channel selection and search for banners and links.

Step 4: Scroll down and select a banner that you want to use, then beneath the banner, click Get Banner Code.

When the code box expands, you’ll note the channel name is now included in the channel. See below:

How to Delete an Ad Channel

Step 1: Login to the Affiliate Platform by clicking here to open the login page.

Step 2: Once you’ve logged in, click Promotion from the menu of options on the left side of the Affiliate Dashboard, then click Ad Channels.

Step 3: Once your Ad Channels have loaded, you can click the trash can icon underneath Actions on the right side to delete the channel.
