How to Add an A Record in cPanel

Users can add the A record for their domains from within the cPanel, however, please note that this effect will only work if Chemicloud’s nameservers or private nameservers registered with ChemiCloud IPs are being used.

1) Log into cPanel.

2) Look for the “Domains” section and click on “Zone Editor”.

3) Here you`ll see all the domains associated with your cPanel account, just click on the  “A Record” link next to the domain name for which you would like to add an A Record.

4) A new window will open, here you’ll need to enter the name of the record and the IP address. In this example, we added an A record for the test.chemiccloud.com to point to the IP 10.0.0.1.

5) Click on the “Add A Record” button after you finish to save your changes.

The name server and DNS zone changes can typically take 12 to 24 hours to take effect, but they are known to take as long as 48 hours to go into full effect.

Nothing can be done to speed the propagation process, however, it is recommended that you plan for propagation ahead of time to minimize the effects of downtime.
