Your server’s IP address plays a crucial role in linking your domain name to your hosting plan with us. It converts your domain name into an IP address, facilitating the connection to our hosting services.
If your domain is registered with a different domain name registrar and you’re using their name servers or any other external name servers, you’ll need to know your server’s IP address.
How to Find Your Server’s IP Address
There might be instances where you wish to keep using your current external name servers but want your domain name to direct to our server. In such cases, you’ll need to update the A record for your domain name to point to our server’s IP address.
You can find your server’s IP address in the hosting account setup information email sent to you after signing up with us. Search for the term ‘Account IP’ in the email.
Additionally, a quick method to find your server’s IP address is by logging into your Client Area. Once logged in, click on the “Server Information” icon associated with your hosting service.
In the pop-up window, under Server Information search for Server IP.
Alternatively, you can find your server’s IP address by logging into cPanel. Once logged in, navigate to the right-hand side of the dashboard to the “GENERAL INFORMATION” section. Here, you will see the “Shared IP address” listed, which is your server’s IP address.
That’s it! Now you know how to locate your server’s IP address which you can use either to point your DNS to us or to connect over FTP.
