Webcentral Reseller Hosting Alternatives: Switch or Stay?

We make reseller hosting, and we compete with Webcentral. This page compares Webcentral’s reseller plans with six alternatives, ours included, and it’s honest about when staying with Webcentral is the better call.

It covers cPanel reseller hosting only. If you host your own website on Webcentral, our web hosting plans are the better comparison. And if you don’t have hosting clients yet, start with our guide to starting a reseller hosting business.

The short answer (verified 8 October 2026): Webcentral’s renewal price is only about 18% above its first-term price, so a renewal shock is rarely the reason to leave. The reasons that hold up are the billing licence you pay for on top, which Webcentral doesn’t include, and the price per client account on the smaller plans. Before you compare anyone, know that Verpex and hosting.com are owned by the same group as Webcentral. If you need Sydney servers and want to leave the group, this comparison narrows quickly. If you rely on phone support or run more than 200 accounts, staying is often the better call.

  • On Webcentral now? Start with moving within the group, then what’s tied to your account, why resellers switch, the plan-by-plan match and the switching checklist.
  • Comparing before you buy? Read the comparison table. Our roundup of the best reseller hosting covers more ground.
  • Running more than 200 accounts? Read reasons to stay and where we’d send you elsewhere first. We stop at 200.

Webcentral reseller hosting at a glance

Webcentral sells twelve cPanel/WHM reseller plans, from Reseller 15 to Reseller 300, named after the number of client accounts each one holds. Above 300, Webcentral’s next step is a VPS. These are the four sizes it features on its pricing cards:

Prices for a 12-month term, verified 8 October 2026 on Webcentral’s reseller page, which shows AUD by default and USD on request. Webcentral prices each currency separately, so the AUD figures aren’t the USD figures at one exchange rate. The rest of this page uses USD so every provider is in the same currency. Compare in the currency you’ll actually pay.

The first-term discount is 15% on every featured plan, so renewal is about 1.18 times what you start on. That’s one of the gentlest renewal steps in this series. Webcentral calls Reseller 50 its most popular plan.

The rest, in brief. Every plan includes WHM, private nameservers and a branded cPanel URL at no extra cost, plus Imunify360, Softaculous and unlimited bandwidth. Webcentral told us backups run daily, are kept for up to 30 days, and that you can restore a client account yourself. Support runs 24/7 by phone, chat and ticket; Webcentral told us its phone support isn’t Australia-based. Migration in is free, there’s a 30-day money-back guarantee on the first term, and annual plans come with a free domain for the first year. Billing software isn’t included.

If you’re on an older plan from before the current names (Reseller Small, Medium, Plus or Large), Webcentral told us the rename didn’t change your price or specs: legacy plans keep their own limits and renewal rates. Your invoice, not this table, is the number to compare.

Moving within the group: Webcentral, Verpex and hosting.com

Answer this first, because it changes what “alternative” means.

Webcentral is part of World Host Group, the group behind hosting.com. Its investor, Oakley Capital, says it invested in Webcentral in 2023, merged it with World Host Group in 2024, and that the group rebranded as hosting.com in 2025. Verpex is in the same group, as its company details page states. Webcentral’s own site doesn’t mention the group, so you may not have known.

The reseller plans show it. All three brands sell cPanel reseller plans named by account count, and where the sizes overlap, the storage matches. Webcentral’s per-account limits match hosting.com’s, with one CPU per account on its smallest plans. At 100 and 150 accounts, Webcentral’s USD renewal prices are exactly hosting.com’s: $90.83 and $132.50 a month. Webcentral told us its reseller plans offer the same server locations as Verpex and hosting.com.

So moving from Webcentral to Verpex or hosting.com changes your plan, your price and possibly your support channels. It may not change the company behind your clients’ sites. Neither brand’s own pages say whether they share servers or support teams with Webcentral. If the company is your reason to leave, assume a move within the group won’t fix it, and look outside it.

If your reason is the plan, a sideways move can be enough. Our pages on Verpex reseller alternatives and hosting.com reseller alternatives cover each brand in detail, including hosting.com’s cheaper non-cPanel line.

What’s tied to your Webcentral account

Many Australian resellers buy more than hosting from Webcentral. Before you compare prices, work out what leaves with the hosting and what doesn’t.

Client domains. Leaving Webcentral’s hosting doesn’t mean moving your clients’ domains. Changing their nameservers to your new host is enough, and .au domains can stay registered where they are. If you do move them later, the registrant and their eligibility don’t change; you’ll need each domain’s transfer code. Do it after the hosting move, not during it.

The free domain. If your annual plan came with a free domain, Webcentral told us it stays yours when you cancel the hosting. It renews at Webcentral’s standard domain rate when its year is up.

Email and Microsoft 365. If some clients use Webcentral’s Professional Email, Business Email or Microsoft 365 rather than cPanel mail, those are separate products. They don’t move with a cPanel migration, and cancelling the reseller plan doesn’t cancel them. Know which clients have which before you start.

Billing software. Webcentral doesn’t supply a licence, so your WHMCS or Blesta licence is yours. Your installation and its database live in your hosting account, though, so they need moving like any client site.

Backups. Webcentral’s backups go when the plan goes. Webcentral told us you can download full cPanel backups of every account before you leave, so take them, and keep them until the new host has run for a few weeks.

Your contract. Webcentral’s general terms roll fixed terms over automatically unless you cancel before the renewal date. A renewal isn’t refundable; the money-back guarantee covers the first term only. You cancel through the Cancellation Options in your customer portal, or by phone with your account support code.

Why resellers on Webcentral look elsewhere

Each reason below comes with a straight answer: will a different host actually fix it?

Billing software costs extra

This is the biggest cost difference, and it’s easy to miss because it never appears on Webcentral’s invoice.

Webcentral’s plans include no billing software, so most resellers buy a WHMCS or Blesta licence separately. WHMCS no longer sells its entry-level Starter licence directly, so a new direct licence starts at WHMCS Plus, $34.95 a month as of October 2026. On Reseller 50, that takes your monthly cost from $57.50 to $92.45.

Our Grow plan holds 60 accounts and includes a WHMCS Starter or Blesta licence for $45.95 a month at renewal. That’s $46.50 a month less than Reseller 50 plus WHMCS Plus, or about $558 a year. At 25 accounts, Reseller 25 plus WHMCS Plus costs $71.62 a month; our Kickstart costs $34.95 with Blesta included. InMotion and GreenGeeks include WHMCS Starter, and HostPapa includes billing software from its Gold plan. Our comparison of reseller hosting with free WHMCS lists who includes what.

If you already own a Blesta licence outright, or don’t use billing software at all, this reason doesn’t apply to you. If you’d be switching platforms, read WHMCS vs Blesta first.

Does switching fix it? Yes, if you pay for a billing licence now.

Price per client account on the smaller plans

Webcentral’s renewal price per account falls as plans get bigger: $1.47 on Reseller 25, $1.15 on Reseller 50, $0.91 on Reseller 100 and $0.88 on Reseller 150. At the top of the range, Webcentral is one of the cheaper options in this comparison. At the bottom, it isn’t.

Before billing software, Reseller 25 renews at $36.67 for 25 accounts; our Kickstart renews at $34.95 for 40, so per account it’s $0.87 against $1.47. Reseller 50 renews at $57.50 for 50; our Grow renews at $45.95 for 60, or $0.77 against $1.15. Storage pulls the other way: Reseller 50 has 150 GB against Grow’s 120 GB. If your clients’ sites are large, compare that before the price. The plan match shows every size side by side.

A cPanel licence price increase is due in 2027, and any host can pass it on at renewal. Webcentral’s terms, like ours, apply a price change from your next term, not mid-term. If you’re repricing your own clients, our reseller profit calculator shows what’s left after your hosting cost.

Does switching fix it? Yes, on books of 25 to 60 accounts. Less so at 100 or more, where Webcentral is competitive.

One CPU per account on the smallest plans

On Reseller 15, 25 and 30, Webcentral gives each client account 2 GB of memory and one CPU. From Reseller 50 up, it’s two CPUs. We give every account 3 GB of memory and two CPUs on every plan; Verpex gives 2 GB and two vCPUs.

That’s headroom before a busy client, such as a shop on sale day, gets slowed down. It isn’t extra speed for a quiet brochure site. If your clients run small sites, one CPU may never be a problem. If a few run WooCommerce or heavy page builders, it can be. Our guide to overselling explains how shared resources are sized.

Does switching fix it? Yes, if you’re on Reseller 15–30 and some clients run busy sites. From Reseller 50, the difference is memory, not CPU.

You want a different company, not a different plan

Some resellers are leaving the company, not the plan: they’d rather choose a provider outside the group, perhaps because they’ve already tried one of its other brands. That’s a legitimate reason, and it narrows the field. Outside the group, the cPanel hosts in this comparison with Australian servers come down to one: us, in Sydney. InMotion, GreenGeeks and HostPapa have no Australian location. There’s also an Australian-owned option; see where we’d send you elsewhere.

Does switching fix it? Only if you leave the group.

Reasons to stay with Webcentral

Some of Webcentral’s reseller features are better than ours. If two or more of these are why you chose it, switching may cost you more than it saves.

  • 24/7 phone support, as well as chat and tickets. We support resellers by chat and ticket only, by choice.
  • Room to grow without moving. Twelve sizes up to 300 accounts, with VPS plans above that. We stop at 200 accounts and sell no root access.
  • More storage at the larger sizes. Reseller 100 has 300 GB and Reseller 150 has 500 GB. Our 130-account plan has 250 GB, and our 200-account plan has 100 GB.
  • A small renewal step. What you pay in year one is close to what you’ll keep paying.
  • No notices to your clients in Webcentral’s name. Webcentral told us quota, suspension and abuse notices don’t go to end clients. Ours go to the contact email set on each cPanel account, so you need to set that to your own address.
  • Everything in one place. Hosting, .au domains, email and Microsoft 365 from one provider, with AUD billing. We bill in USD and don’t sell domains to resellers.
  • A legacy plan on a rate you’re happy with. Webcentral told us legacy plans keep their own renewal rates. If yours is low, check it before you move.

Server locations aren’t on this list or on the reasons to leave. Webcentral and we both have Sydney, and each of us has locations the other lacks.

The alternatives compared

We compared Webcentral with ChemiCloud and the five other cPanel/WHM reseller hosts we cover in this series: Verpex, hosting.com, InMotion, GreenGeeks and HostPapa. Verpex and hosting.com are in the same group as Webcentral.

Each row shows the provider’s plan closest to Reseller 50, Webcentral’s most popular. Where a provider has no 50-account plan, the row shows the smallest plan that fits 50 accounts.

*ChemiCloud’s accounts-optimised Grow: 90 accounts and 60 GB at the same price as the storage-optimised version. Monthly renewal prices in USD at a 12-month term, checked 1–8 October 2026 on each provider’s own pages, with details confirmed by their sales teams. First-term discounts vary widely between providers and apply once, so this table compares what you’ll keep paying. Billing licences bought separately aren’t included.

Three things stand out.

  • The billing licence decides most of this table. Add one to Webcentral, Verpex and hosting.com, and the three providers that include one, plus us, all cost less each month at this size.
  • Per account at renewal, Webcentral sits mid-pack at 50 accounts. GreenGeeks, InMotion and we renew lower. Verpex matches it, and HostPapa costs slightly more.
  • For Sydney servers outside the group, the table has one answer. That’s us. If that’s what you need and we’re not the right fit for other reasons, read where we’d send you elsewhere.

ChemiCloud. We have Sydney among nine server locations, alongside Portland, Washington D.C., Montreal, London, Frankfurt, Singapore, Seoul and Mumbai. Location is set per reseller plan; if you have clients in two regions, you can run a second plan elsewhere on the same private nameservers.

We migrate your whole book free, however many accounts it has, and move your WHMCS or Blesta installation and its database onto the licence included with your plan, at no cost. Every account gets 3 GB of memory and two CPUs. Daily backups are kept for 30 days, and you can restore a client account yourself. Support is 24/7, by people, with no AI chatbots, and that covers the whole Australian working day. Month-to-month billing is available, and the money-back guarantee is 45 days.

We bill in USD only and don’t charge GST. We’re not Australian-owned, and we don’t offer phone support.

Billing software included at ChemiCloud (Blesta on Kickstart; WHMCS Starter or Blesta from Grow), InMotion, GreenGeeks, and HostPapa from Gold. Checked 1–8 October 2026. On Reseller 15, 30, 60, 75 or 120, read across from the nearest row. † Less storage than the Webcentral plan in that row. ChemiCloud’s accounts-optimised plans hold more accounts with less storage at the same price, so they suit books of many small sites, not large ones.

Three things stand out.

  • Reseller 25 and 50 are where switching saves most, and more again once you add the billing licence Webcentral doesn’t include.
  • At Reseller 100, Webcentral is hard to beat on storage. Our Established renews lower per account, but has 250 GB against 300 GB.
  • At Reseller 150, staying is usually right if your sites are large. Only hosting.com, in the same group, matches 500 GB. Our 200-account plan is cheaper but has a fifth of the storage.

Where we’d send you elsewhere

We’d rather you move once, to the right host, than move to us and leave in six months.

  • You want an Australian-owned provider with Australian support: look at Synergy Wholesale, the wholesale business that grew out of VentraIP. It sells cPanel/WHM reseller hosting and says it’s 100% Australian-owned. We’re neither Australian-owned nor Australia-based.
  • Phone support is non-negotiable: stay with Webcentral, or look at Verpex, hosting.com, InMotion, GreenGeeks or HostPapa. Only Verpex and hosting.com of those have Australian servers.
  • You need more than 200 accounts on cPanel, or root access: stay, or move to a VPS. We stop at 200 and sell no root access. Read outgrowing reseller hosting before you decide.
  • You run large client sites at 150 accounts or more: stay. No alternative outside the group matches Webcentral’s storage at that size.
  • Your reason is the plan, not the company: a move within the group may be enough. See moving within the group.
  • You want out of hosting, not a new host: selling your book may make more sense than moving it. Here’s how selling a hosting book of business works. Webcentral’s general terms allow you to assign your contract with its written consent, which it says it won’t unreasonably withhold.

How to switch from Webcentral without your clients noticing

You’ve decided to move. The order matters more than the speed. These steps follow the sequence our migrations team uses; the detail for each is in our guide to migrating client sites without downtime.

  1. Start four to six weeks before your Webcentral renewal date, and don’t cancel anything yet. Webcentral’s fixed terms renew automatically unless you cancel first, and a renewal isn’t refundable. A few weeks of overlap is cheaper than a rushed move.
  2. List every client and what they have. For each: the cPanel account, the domain and where it’s registered, where its DNS is hosted, and its email (cPanel mail, Webcentral Professional or Business Email, or Microsoft 365). Anything that isn’t cPanel stays where it is unless you move it separately.
  3. Back up your billing software. Export your WHMCS or Blesta installation and its database. Your new host should move it with your clients.
  4. Choose the location. For an Australian book, choose Sydney. If some clients are overseas, decide whether they need a second plan in another region.
  5. Set up the new account and your private nameservers. If you already use private nameservers, you can repoint their glue records to the new host and move the whole book in one change. Our guide to private nameservers covers the setup.
  6. Ask the new host to migrate your accounts, or take full cPanel backups yourself. Webcentral told us you can download full backups of every account. Take them either way, as a safety copy.
  7. Lower DNS TTLs a day or two before the cut-over, so the change spreads quickly.
  8. Pick a quiet window in Sydney time, such as a weeknight evening, not a Monday morning. Tell clients only if something they use will change, such as a cPanel login address. Here’s how to word that message.
  9. Switch the nameservers or glue records. Domains stay registered where they are. Don’t leave this step for later: the most common problem our migrations team sees after a move is a DNS change that never got made.
  10. Check every site, mailbox and SSL certificate on the new host, and keep Webcentral running for at least a week in case something was missed.
  11. Never let it lapse; cancel only when everything is verified, and before the renewal date. Use Cancellation Options in your Webcentral customer portal, or phone with your support code. Your separate domain, email and Microsoft 365 products carry on until you cancel them.

Webcentral reseller hosting: FAQs

Is Webcentral part of World Host Group?

Yes. Oakley Capital, its investor, says Webcentral merged with World Host Group in 2024, and that the group has since rebranded as hosting.com. Verpex is in the same group. Webcentral’s own website doesn’t mention it. Verified 8 October 2026.

Does ChemiCloud have servers in Australia?

Yes, in Sydney. Retained backups for Sydney accounts are stored on a separate remote server in a location close to Sydney. If a client contract says data must stay in Australia, ask any host, us included, where its backups are kept, not just its servers.

Will I pay GST if I switch to ChemiCloud?

We bill in US dollars and don’t add GST. How your business accounts for GST on a service bought from overseas is a question for your accountant. Your bank may also charge a foreign transaction fee on USD payments.

Do I have to move my .au domains if I leave Webcentral’s hosting?

No. Point their nameservers at your new host and they can stay registered with Webcentral. If you want them elsewhere later, we recommend ResellerClub or CentralNic for client domains, including .au, and can introduce you to their account managers. We don’t sell domains to resellers ourselves.

Does Webcentral include WHMCS with reseller hosting?

No. Webcentral told us no billing licence is included on any reseller plan, so you buy WHMCS or Blesta separately. We include Blesta on Kickstart and WHMCS Starter or Blesta from Grow up.

What happens to email I bought from Webcentral?

If a client uses Webcentral’s Professional Email, Business Email or Microsoft 365, it’s a separate product. It doesn’t move with a cPanel migration, and it keeps running and billing until you cancel it. Plan each one before the move.

How long does it take to move a whole reseller book?

It depends on the number of accounts and how large they are, so we won’t promise a time. Most of the elapsed time is usually preparation and DNS, not copying files. Our guide to migrating client sites explains what takes the time.

Moving an Australian client book?

If you’ve read this far and we’re the right fit, start on a reseller plan in Sydney. We’ll migrate every account, plus your WHMCS or Blesta installation, free. See our reseller hosting plans.

Not sure the numbers work yet? Run your book through the reseller profit calculator first. And if you need phone support, more than 200 accounts or an Australian-owned host, the section above is the better place to start.
