We sell reseller hosting, and we compete with Hostinger. This page covers every option you have, including staying with Hostinger on its Agency plan, and it says plainly when that’s the better move. We have no affiliate relationship with Hostinger or any other host named here.
Last checked: 12 October 2026, against Hostinger’s discontinuation notice and its Agency plan pages.
Hostinger has stopped renewing its cPanel Reseller plans. Your plan will end on its expiry date or on 1 October 2027, whichever comes first, and it can’t be extended. Hostinger’s suggested replacement, its Agency plan, isn’t cPanel and isn’t reseller hosting in the usual sense, so the real choice is whether you want to keep running hosting as a business you bill for.
This page is for Hostinger cPanel Reseller customers. If you’re on a single Hostinger hosting plan, our guide to cancelling Hostinger is the better place to start. And if you’re weighing whether reselling is worth continuing at all, how to start a reseller hosting business covers the economics and the workload before you commit to a new provider.
At a glance
- You bill clients for hosting and want them on their own cPanel: move to another cPanel reseller host.
- You host a few client WordPress sites and don’t bill for hosting separately: Hostinger’s Agency plan may suit you.
- You need root access or your own server: look at a VPS (more on that step).
- Your deadline: your plan’s expiry date or 1 October 2027, whichever is sooner. Check it in Hostinger’s Billing section today.

What Hostinger is changing, and your real deadline
The timeline
Hostinger announced the change in May 2026. Since 1 October 2026, cPanel Reseller plans can’t be renewed. On 1 October 2027, every remaining plan is shut down. Hostinger’s stated reason is to move web professionals onto its Agency hosting platform.
Hostinger has stopped selling cPanel more broadly too. New customers can’t buy shared cPanel hosting either; hPanel is now its only control panel for new plans.
Which date applies to you
Hostinger’s notice describes three renewal scenarios, and the wording is easy to misread. In practice it comes down to this:
| If your plan… | Then… | Your last day |
|---|---|---|
| Was renewed before 1 October 2026 (automatically or by hand, for up to 12 months) | It can’t be renewed again | Its new expiry date, or 1 October 2027 if that’s sooner |
| Wasn’t renewed and expires before 1 October 2027 | It can’t be renewed now | Its current expiry date |
| Runs past 1 October 2027 (for example, a longer term bought earlier) | It’s terminated early | 1 October 2027 |
So for many resellers the deadline isn’t next October. If your plan expires in December, December is when your clients’ sites stop being hosted.
Find your expiry date in the Billing section of your Hostinger dashboard. Then count back two weeks: that’s the date to have every client moved, tested and switched over. DNS changes, slow clients and one forgotten mailbox always take longer than planned.
What happens to your data and unused months
If your plan runs past 1 October 2027, Hostinger says it will refund the unused part of your subscription or give you credit toward an Agency plan.
Hostinger hasn’t published whether there’s a grace period after expiry, or how long files and backups stay downloadable once a plan ends. Don’t count on either. Take full cPanel backups of every account before your expiry date, while you still have cPanel to take them with.
Hostinger’s Agency plan is not reseller hosting
Hostinger recommends its Agency plan to cPanel Reseller customers. It’s a capable product, but it works differently, and the differences land on you and on your clients.
What changes for you
- No WHM, no cPanel. You manage sites in hPanel, Hostinger’s own panel. There are no separate cPanel accounts under a reseller account; every site lives in one Agency plan.
- No billing software. There’s no WHMCS or Blesta licence and no confirmed integration, and Hostinger doesn’t bill clients on your behalf. You invoice and collect with your own system.
- Private nameservers still work. Agency plans support up to four child nameservers, where the domain extension allows them.
- Migration covers less. Hostinger’s migration tool moves website files and databases, one request per old cPanel username. Its notice says cron jobs, DNS records, custom SSL configurations and FTP accounts aren’t migrated and must be recreated by hand. It doesn’t say whether mailboxes and their contents move, so ask before you rely on it.
- Support starts with an AI agent. Hostinger presents its AI agent, Hostinger Agent, as the first point of contact for priority support, and its discontinuation notice sends migration questions there too. You can ask for a human through the help option in hPanel.
What changes for your clients
- A different login. Instead of their own cPanel, each client gets an email invitation to an unbranded dashboard with a file manager, databases, domains, security settings, backups and site management. It isn’t cPanel, so anything they did themselves there, like adding an email forwarder or an FTP user, works differently.
- Email becomes a separate cost. Agency includes 10 mailboxes per website free for the first year. After that, Hostinger’s Business Email Starter renews at about $1.59 per mailbox per month. On a cPanel reseller plan, mailboxes are part of the hosting account.
Resell or refer: the decision underneath
Alongside the Agency plan, Hostinger promotes a referral programme. You earn 20% of the plan price when a client you refer buys an annual plan, the client gets 20% off, and partners get 20% off their own Agency plan.
That’s a different business from reselling. When you refer, the client becomes Hostinger’s customer: they pay Hostinger, they renew with Hostinger, and your income is a commission, not a margin you set. For some designers that’s a relief. If hosting sits inside a care plan or retainer you bill every month, it’s recurring revenue you’d be giving up. Hosting inside a retainer and what reselling actually earns set out what’s at stake.
The Agency plan’s price, checked 12 October 2026: Agency Startup is $34 a month on a 12-month term, renewing at $69, or $29 on a 24-month term, renewing at $49. It hosts up to 100 websites with 6 CPU cores, 12 GB of memory and 300 GB of NVMe storage, shared across the plan. Hostinger’s prices exclude VAT.
Your three options
| Your situation | Best fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| You bill clients for hosting and want them on their own cPanel | Another cPanel reseller host | Same model, same client experience, and the move is cPanel to cPanel |
| You run WHMCS or Blesta | A cPanel reseller host that includes a licence | Agency has no billing integration. Hosts that include WHMCS |
| You host a few client WordPress sites and don’t bill hosting separately | Hostinger Agency | Isolation, staging and a clean client dashboard; the simplest move |
| You’d rather stop handling hosting and earn a commission | Hostinger Agency with its referral programme, or refer clients to any host | You’re no longer reselling, so weigh the revenue you’d lose |
| You need root access, custom software or more than shared reseller hosting allows | A VPS or dedicated server | When you’ve outgrown reseller hosting |
When Hostinger’s Agency plan is the right call
Staying with Hostinger is a sensible choice for a lot of readers. It’s the right one if most of these are true:
- You already know hPanel and your clients rarely log in themselves.
- Your sites are mostly WordPress or WooCommerce. Agency is built around them, with staging and one-click cloning on every site.
- You want each site isolated from the others, which Agency does by default.
- You host close to 100 sites. At that size, $69 a month at renewal works out to about $0.69 per site, which is hard to beat.
- You don’t bill hosting as a separate line, or you’d rather earn referral commission than run billing.
- Your plan runs past October 2027, so Hostinger’s credit toward Agency offsets part of the first term.
If that’s you, stay. Use the checklist below for the things Hostinger’s migration tool doesn’t carry across, and ask Hostinger how it handles mailboxes before you start.
What to look for in a cPanel reseller host
If you’re keeping the reseller model, these are the things to check before you buy. Each one is something a Hostinger leaver tends to discover only after moving.
- The renewal price, per client account. Introductory rates last one term. Divide the renewal price by the number of accounts you’ll actually use. How to price reseller hosting shows why your margin depends on that figure, and the cheapest reseller hosting plans show what the low numbers leave out.
- Whether a billing licence is included, and which edition. It’s a real share of your costs at small scale.
- Whether your price is held when cPanel raises its licence fees. cPanel’s next increase is in 2027. Ask whether the host holds your price for the term you’ve paid for. Our cPanel price increase calculator shows what an increase means for your book.
- Who does the migration, and what it moves. You want a team that moves every account whole, including cron jobs, DNS zones, SSL certificates and FTP accounts, plus your billing install. Migrating client sites without downtime covers what a good move looks like.
- Whether you can restore one client’s account yourself, from how many days back. Who’s responsible when a client deletes their site explains why this matters.
- White-label details: private nameservers, generic server hostnames, and a cPanel login on your own domain. Where white-label seams show lists the places a provider’s name can leak.
- Memory and CPU per client account, so one busy site can’t slow the rest.
- Who answers support, by which channels, and at what hours.
Hostinger reseller alternatives compared
We’ve compared Hostinger’s Agency plan with two cPanel reseller plans sized for a book of 40 to 60 clients: our Grow plan and InMotion Hosting’s R-2000N. We picked InMotion because it includes WHMCS and phone support, two things we don’t both offer. Our full reseller hosting comparison covers four more cPanel hosts.
Hostinger no longer publishes the specs or prices of its retired cPanel Reseller plans, so they aren’t in the table.
| Hostinger Agency Startup | ChemiCloud Grow | InMotion R-2000N | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Control panel | hPanel | cPanel and WHM | cPanel and WHM |
| Client logins | Invitation to an unbranded dashboard | Each client’s own cPanel | Each client’s own cPanel |
| Sites or accounts | 100 websites | 60 cPanel accounts (90 on accounts-optimised) | 50 cPanel accounts |
| Price, 12-month term → renewal | $34 → $69/mo | $19.95 → $45.95/mo | $26.99 → $55.99/mo |
| Renewal per site or account | $0.69 at 100 sites | $0.77 at 60 ($0.51 at 90) | $1.12 at 50 |
| 10 mailboxes per site free for year 1, then about $1.59 per mailbox per month | Included in each cPanel account | Included, unlimited | |
| Billing software | None | WHMCS Starter or Blesta included | WHMCS included |
| Backups | Daily, plus on-demand | Daily, kept 30 days; restore a client account yourself | Backup Manager add-on |
| Migration | Hostinger tool: files and databases; cron, DNS, custom SSL and FTP recreated by hand | Whole book, free, including your billing install | You upload cPanel backups for their team to restore; check the cost for a whole book |
| Support | AI agent first; ask for a human in hPanel | 24/7 human chat and tickets, no AI chatbot, no phone | 24/7 chat, tickets and phone |
| Money-back window | 30 days | 45 days | 90 days (6-month and longer terms) |
| Price held through cPanel’s 2027 increase | Not applicable (no cPanel) | Yes, for the term you’ve paid | Yes, until the end of the term (InMotion sales, October 2026) |
Monthly prices in USD, checked 12 October 2026 on each provider’s own pages, except Hostinger’s 12-month Agency price and mailbox renewal, which come from Hostinger’s sales chat the same day. Hostinger’s prices exclude VAT. Introductory rates apply to the first term only.
Per site, Agency is cheapest only when it’s full. At 100 sites, $69 a month is about $0.69 each. A 40-client book on the same plan pays $1.73 per site. Email is the bigger difference. Say each of 40 clients keeps two mailboxes at Hostinger after the free year: that’s 80 mailboxes at about $1.59, or roughly $127 a month on top of the $69 plan. On a cPanel plan, those mailboxes are already in the price. Your clients could move their mail to another provider instead, but that’s another migration and another bill.
ChemiCloud
This is us, so read it with that in mind.
On every reseller plan, each client gets their own cPanel account under your WHM, with up to 3 GB of memory and 2 CPU cores, and you get private nameservers, generic server hostnames and a cPanel login on your own domain. Grow includes a WHMCS Starter or Blesta licence; Kickstart, our entry plan (40 accounts, or 60 on accounts-optimised, $17.95 renewing at $34.95), includes Blesta.
We move your whole Hostinger book for free, however many accounts it has. Our migrations team moves each cPanel account whole: files, databases, email, cron jobs, DNS zones, SSL certificates and FTP accounts. If you run WHMCS or Blesta, we move the installation and its database onto the licence included with your plan. Sites stay live at Hostinger until you switch DNS. Free migrations are for accounts coming from another provider and are time-limited, but if you still have months left on Hostinger, we’ll look at extending the window case by case.
We take daily backups and keep them for 30 days, and you can restore a single client’s account yourself. When cPanel raises its licence fees, including in 2027, we hold your price for the term you’ve paid for. Support is 24/7, by people, on live chat and tickets, with no AI chatbot. We don’t offer phone support, dedicated IPs, root access or a reseller VPS. Servers are in nine locations across North America, Europe, Asia and Australia, and the money-back window is 45 days.

Other cPanel reseller hosts worth a look
- InMotion Hosting if phone support matters: it’s included from R-2000N up, along with WHMCS and a 90-day money-back window.
- Hosts that include WHMCS: the WHMCS-included comparison lists them.
- The cheapest credible options, and what they leave out: cheapest reseller hosting.
- White-label for agencies: best white-label hosting for agencies compares where each host’s name shows.
What doesn’t move automatically
Whichever way you go, some parts of your setup need attention before your expiry date.
| With Hostinger’s Agency migration | With a cPanel-to-cPanel migration | What to do now | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sites and databases | Moved | Moved | Test every site on the new server before switching DNS |
| Cron jobs, DNS records, custom SSL, FTP accounts | Not moved; recreate by hand | Moved with each cPanel account | Export each account’s cron list, DNS zone and FTP users now, as a record |
| Client domains | Not part of hosting | Not part of hosting | Leave them where they’re registered; change nameservers or records only |
| Client email | Not confirmed; 10 free mailboxes per site for year 1 | Moved with each cPanel account | Count mailboxes and their sizes per client |
While your Hostinger plan is active, you still have cPanel. Use it: take a full backup of every account and note anything custom. After your expiry date, you may not get the chance.
Moving a Hostinger reseller book: step by step
- Find your expiry date in Hostinger’s Billing section. Count back two weeks. That’s your finish line.
- List everything you host. For each client: their cPanel account, domains and where they’re registered, mailbox count and size, and anything custom, such as cron jobs, SSL certificates, FTP users or Node.js and Python apps.
- Back up everything while you still have cPanel: a full backup of each account, plus your WHMCS or Blesta installation and its database if you use one. Keep copies off Hostinger.
- Choose your path using the table above, and buy the new plan.
- Request the migration. With a cPanel reseller host, ask for the whole book in one request. With Hostinger’s Agency plan, submit one request per old cPanel username.
- Recreate what didn’t move, then test every site on the new server, using a hosts-file preview or temporary URL, before changing anything clients will see.
- Switch DNS. If you use private nameservers, you can repoint their glue records once and move the whole book together. Otherwise, update each client’s nameservers or records. Lower the TTL a day or two beforehand.
- Move billing. Point your billing software at the new server, or let your new host move the installation for you.
- Tell your clients what changes for them (next section).
- Keep Hostinger running until DNS has settled and you’ve checked that email arrives at the new server. Download a final backup, then let the plan lapse.
The client site migration guide covers DNS timing, email cut-over and rollback in detail.
Telling your clients
Most clients don’t need to know which company runs your servers. They do need to know what changes for them, and when.
Tell them, briefly: the date of the move; whether their login changes, with the new details sent separately; whether anything happens to their email, and what to do if a message goes missing that day; and who to contact if something looks wrong. If you’re moving to another cPanel host, their experience barely changes. If you’re moving to Agency, explain the new dashboard and how email works after the first year.
You don’t have to name Hostinger, or your new provider. Telling clients you’re taking over their hosting covers the conversation in more depth.
Where we’d send you elsewhere
We’d rather you move once, to the right place.
- You don’t bill hosting and want the least work: stay with Hostinger on the Agency plan.
- You need phone support: InMotion Hosting from R-2000N, or another host from our full comparison. We offer chat and tickets only.
- You need root access, your own WHM or a dedicated server: a VPS or dedicated host. We don’t sell any of those. When you’ve outgrown reseller hosting covers the step.
- You need dedicated IPs for client accounts: InMotion includes them; we don’t offer them on reseller plans.
- You want out of hosting altogether: refer your clients to a host directly, Hostinger included, and let them hold the account.
FAQ
Can I still buy or renew Hostinger reseller hosting?
No. Hostinger stopped selling cPanel Reseller plans and, since 1 October 2026, no longer renews them. Every remaining plan ends on 1 October 2027 at the latest.
What happens to my sites when my Hostinger reseller plan ends?
The plan is terminated and the sites stop being hosted. Hostinger hasn’t published a grace period or how long data stays downloadable afterwards, so take full cPanel backups of every account before your expiry date.
Will I get a refund for unused months?
If your plan runs past 1 October 2027, Hostinger says it will refund the unused portion or give you credit toward an Agency plan. Ask Hostinger support how it applies to your account before you plan around it.
Is Hostinger Agency hosting the same as reseller hosting?
No. Agency is one hPanel account holding up to 100 sites (on Startup), with per-site client access. There’s no WHM, no separate cPanel account per client and no billing software, and Hostinger pairs it with a referral programme rather than reselling.
Does Hostinger still offer cPanel?
Not for new customers. Hostinger now sells hosting on hPanel only. Existing cPanel accounts remain until they expire or, for reseller plans, until 1 October 2027.
I’ve already moved to Hostinger’s Agency plan. Can I move back to cPanel?
Yes. Sites on Agency are still files and databases, so a cPanel host’s migration team can move them into cPanel accounts. Our migrations team has moved sites from Hostinger’s Agency plan into cPanel accounts before, free, as with any other external move.
How long does moving a whole reseller book take?
The copying is usually the quick part. What takes time is testing each site, waiting for DNS to settle and getting clients to update anything on their side. Start at least a month before your expiry date and aim to finish two weeks before it.
Moving off Hostinger before your plan ends?
If you want to keep running hosting as your business, on cPanel, with your own billing, our team will move every account and your WHMCS or Blesta install for free. See our reseller hosting plans.
Not sure the numbers work at a new price? Run your book through the reseller profit calculator first. And if the Agency plan fits you better, stay with Hostinger and use the checklist above for what its tool doesn’t move.
